About

The Holloway Quartet was founded by a group of ambitious students at San Francisco State University studying under the Alexander String Quartet. Since their inception in 2011, they have been invited to perform at the Russian River Valley “Rising Stars” concert in 2011, the inaugural Classical Revolution Festival in 2012, and as young artists at the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music (SFFCM) annual Chamber Music Day. They have worked in master classes with the Jasper Quartet, the Parker Quartet, ARTefact, Trio Valtrona and the Lincoln Trio. Now comprised of violinists Lydia Eyssallenne and Brooke Parker, violist Whitney Smith and cellist Ami Nashimoto, the quartet continues to perform at university events and collaborate with talented students, such as soprano Gillian Eshleman, pianist David Borac, and clarinetist Joshua Jensen. As individual musicians they have performed with the SF Academy Orchestra, the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, the Monterey Symphony, the Community Women’s Orchestra, the Passport Chamber Orchestra and the Shotgun Players. They would like to thank their teachers, the Alexander String Quartet, for their continual support.
